Assigned electricity contract (anvisat avtal)
An assigned contract (anvisat avtal) is the electricity contract you are on if you never chose one yourself. Here is what it means, and the assigned prices of 59 suppliers next to what the same supplier charges on its other contracts.

What is an assigned contract?
If you use electricity in your home without having signed a supply contract – after moving in, for example – your grid operator assigns a supplier to you. The contract you get is called an anvisat avtal (assigned contract) and its price anvisat pris.
The grid operator has to choose the supplier in a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory way and tell you which supplier you have been given. If you have an assigned contract, the supplier has to say so on your invoice, using the name anvisat avtal.

The terms
An assigned contract runs until you choose another contract yourself. The notice period may not be longer than 14 days. The contract may not have an hourly or quarter-hourly price, i.e. no price that changes every hour or every quarter of an hour. At least once a quarter the supplier has to tell you which other contracts it offers.

The change on 1 July 2027
The Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate (Ei) has announced that assigned supply contracts will be replaced on 1 July 2027 by a new system, the supplier of last resort (leveransskyldig sistahandsleverantör).
The Electricity Act (ellagen) is repealed on 1 January 2027 and replaced by the Electricity Market Act (elmarknadslagen), which enters into force the same day. Under the act introducing the Electricity Market Act, two of the rules for assigned contracts apply until 30 June 2027: the grid company assigns a supplier to anyone without a supply contract, and an assigned contract may not have a notice period longer than 14 days. On 1 July 2027 the system of assigned contracts is wound up.

“Discount, new customers only”: the comparison price includes a temporary discount. Elpriskollen lists such contracts as having a “temporarily lower price” and, according to Ei, spreads the discount over one year for open-ended contracts and over the whole term for fixed ones – the price will rise during the contract. “New customers only”: the discount applies only when signing the contract as a new customer.
Comparison prices as the supplier reported them to Elpriskollen or shows them on its own price page. For assigned and variable contracts they are built on a settled month's average spot price: Elpriskollen uses the previous month, and the suppliers' own pages state which month their figure is for.
Every price is a comparison price (jämförpris): öre/kWh including the energy price, markup, fixed fee and 25 % VAT at the consumption you picked. The grid fee and energy tax are not included. Difference = assigned price minus the price of the cheapest other contract; a positive number means the other contract is cheaper. Cost and difference per year are worked out from the exact comparison price, before rounding.
The cheapest other contract can be any contract type the supplier sells in the area – fixed, variable, quarter-hourly or mixed – and the type is shown in the cell. An assigned or variable price can be set after the fact for a given month of consumption, while a fixed price applies going forward, so two prices on one row can refer to different periods.
A contract without a price stays in the table with what we do know about it (such as the markup), so the list is complete.
When Elpriskollen's comparison price corresponds to a different monthly fee than the one the supplier states on its own price page, we do not show the comparison price, but the markup and monthly fee from the supplier's page.
⁂ = the comparison price is computed by us from the supplier's own energy price and fixed fee, not taken ready-made.
What can you do?
You can sign a different contract, with the same supplier or another one. The notice period on an assigned contract is at most 14 days. The comparison lists every contract in your price area, sorted by comparison price at your consumption.

Questions about assigned contracts
How do I know whether I have an assigned contract?
If you have an assigned contract, the supplier has to say so on your invoice, using the name anvisat avtal. You get one if you use electricity without having signed a supply contract yourself, for example after moving in – your grid operator then assigns a supplier to you.
How quickly can I leave an assigned contract?
The notice period may not be longer than 14 days. The contract runs until you choose another contract yourself, with the same supplier or another one.
Can an assigned contract have an hourly or quarter-hourly price?
No. An assigned contract may not have a price that changes every hour or every quarter of an hour. If you want a quarter-hourly price, you have to sign such a contract yourself.
What happens to assigned contracts in 2027?
The Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate has announced that assigned supply contracts will be replaced on 1 July 2027 by a new system, the supplier of last resort (leveransskyldig sistahandsleverantör). Under the act introducing the Electricity Market Act, the system of assigned contracts is wound up on 1 July 2027; until 30 June 2027 the grid company assigns a supplier to anyone without a supply contract, and an assigned contract may not have a notice period longer than 14 days.
How is the difference in the table worked out?
The difference is the assigned contract's comparison price minus the comparison price of the cheapest other contract the same supplier sells in the same price area, at the consumption you picked. The difference per year is that figure times the annual consumption, worked out before rounding. The grid fee and energy tax are not included.
