About kollaelpris.se

kollaelpris.se collects electricity contracts per price area (SE1–SE4) and ranks them on a comparable price. No login, no ads, no data passed on to anyone.

What is the comparison price?

The comparison price (jämförpris) is the Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate's (Ei) own yardstick: öre per kWh at an annual consumption of 2,000 kWh, including the energy price, any markup, and the fixed monthly fee, plus 25% VAT. It is the number every contract on this site is ranked by. It excludes the grid fee (nätavgift) and the energy tax – you pay those to your grid operator and the state regardless of which supplier you pick, and they do not differ between suppliers.

Where do the prices come from?

Most prices come from Ei's open Elpriskollen API, which covers essentially the whole Swedish consumer market. On top of that, we collect prices directly from a number of suppliers' own price pages with our own parsers, as a complement for when Elpriskollen's data is missing or stale. Collection runs automatically three times a day.

How are variable contracts priced?

For variable contracts where the supplier publishes a markup in öre/kWh, we compute the energy price as a rolling seven-day reference price from Nord Pool for your price area plus the supplier's markup, converted to öre/kWh including VAT. The comparison price in the table follows the same principle Ei itself uses: energy price plus fixed fee.

What do we deliberately leave out?

Contracts sold only to customers within the supplier's own grid area are excluded – you cannot sign up for them unless you are already a grid customer of that specific company, and listing them would misrepresent what is actually available to choose from. The same goes for member-only prices and other discounts that require membership in an organisation outside the electricity contract itself.

No affiliate links, no lead generation

kollaelpris.se makes no money from which supplier you choose. There are no affiliate links, no commission, and we never sell or pass on visitor data – there is, for that matter, no account or form to hand any data over in.
