Electricity futures
What the market charges today for power delivered later — month, quarter and year, per price area and for the Nordic system price. A futures price is a bare electricity price for a flat delivery around the clock: the markup, energy tax, VAT and the grid fee come on top, and a household's consumption looks nothing like a flat delivery.

What does the market say about a fixed price?
The futures prices for the coming months, weighted by how a Swedish household with electric heating uses power over the year. That gives a reference value for what the electricity in the period costs on the exchange.
- 6 mo101.5öre/kWh
- 12 mo82.7öre/kWh
- 24 mo72.8öre/kWh
A futures contract prices a flat delivery around the clock. A household uses most of its power when it is cold and the price is high, and the supplier charges for that profile and for the risk that it deviates. A fair fixed offer therefore sits above the reference value — and on top of it come the markup, energy tax, VAT and the grid fee.
Weighting in percent of annual consumption, January to December: 12.5 / 11.5 / 10 / 8 / 6 / 4.5 / 4 / 4.5 / 6 / 8.5 / 11 / 13.5. Months with no month contract of their own are priced from the quarter or year contract that covers them.
Has the market been right?
For every delivered month, the last futures price before delivery started is compared with the spot price the month actually produced.
No month can be compared yet. The first will be September 2026, and the comparison appears from 1 Oct 2026 — by then the month is delivered and the spot price for the whole period is known.
